Based in Derby with 3 Senior Men teams, a Senior Women section, Colts, Touch, Mixed Ability and Mini & Junior Section. The first XV play in Regional 1 Midlands.
Here at Derby, we are a community rugby club offering a diverse range of teams for all ages and abilities.
We run 3 men’s sides: 1st XV, 2nd XV and 3rd XV. Playing from level 5 (Regional 1 Midlands league) down to level 9 (1 West NLD Merit league).
We currently play in the RFU Women’s National Championship North East 1 League and have regular development matches for new players to get them ready to play.
The Derby Bucks are the club’s ‘Mixed Ability’ team, aimed at providing social senior rugby for men aged 17+. Founded in 2018, the team have grown from an initial 3 players to a squad of 30+ for the 2022/23 season.
Touch is a mixed sport open to players of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and experience. Whether you have played rugby for years or have never touched a ball before, the Touch section provides a welcoming home for you.
The section’s vision is to inspire, develop and retain as many Colts as possible to become competent, safe and effective rugby players who are capable of playing and enjoying senior rugby in a sustainable manner while buying into the ethos and camaraderie of rugby football.
The Junior section at DRFC are continuing to promote the determination and achievements of our young players as they represent the club so well and with such a superb attitude.
We continue to work within the remit of England rugby’s age grade guidance. This aids boys and girls to learn and enjoy the game through age-appropriate building blocks. This puts inclusivity and development at the forefront.
